Social Emotional IEP Goals

One of the biggest challenges students faces is peer pressure. Their peers' behavior often influences students, which can lead to poor choices. Teachers can help students identify and practice using assertive actions when pressured by their friends in an IEP goal designed for social skills. Students need to learn how to resist peer pressure because it can help them avoid making mistakes that could have negative consequences. Additionally, learning how to resist peer pressure can help students stay on track with their goals and make progress in their lives. For these reasons, students must learn to use assertive behavior to resist peer pressure. This IEP goal is designed to help students with social skills identify and practice assertive behavior when faced with peer pressure.
