Social Emotional IEP Goals

If you have a student with ADD or ADHD, inattention can be a major obstacle to success in the classroom. Fortunately, specific IEP goals can help improve task preparedness and writing implement readiness. For example, one goal could be that the student can start a task within one minute of being given the assignment. This can be further broken down into specific steps, such as getting all the necessary materials organized (starting with a writing implement, pencil or pen) and ready to go before starting the task. By setting clear goals and working on them systematically, you can help your student overcome inattention and succeed in the classroom.
